This course aims to provide you with an introduction to Animal Care which could lead to employment at a junior level or to further courses. It will also help you to develop personal and administrative skills needed in this kind of work. This course includes a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills sessions and employer encounters such as guest speakers. For 16-18 year old learners this will be delivered as a study programme which includes Maths & English where applicable. The qualification you will gain is a City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate in Animal Care which is assessed by a formal written exam, a formal synoptic practical exam, written assignments and observation of practical competence.
