The purpose of the LANSS is to support a skilled, inclusive workforce fit for the future of land and nature based work in Cumbria, meeting the needs of employers and our natural environment.
LANSS is for you if you’re an employer in the land and nature sector in or near Cumbria and can offer work placements, apprenticeships or structured learning. Maybe you can offer external training for other businesses, and/or host workshops, talks and networking events.
Would you like to upskill your team but are not sure where to find the training provision? Are there gaps in learning provision which you feel need addressing? Are you an SME seeking advice on funding for training? LANSS may be able to assist.
The LANSS is not a jobs platform but a promotional channel for employers to showcase their training and skills opportunities. It is an information hub for the existing workforce and potential new entrants, including young people, to access careers in the land and nature sector.
We will work with employers to identify skills and training gaps and liaise with training providers to create bespoke learning opportunities to meet those needs.
We will convene a network of interested parties and undertake reviews and promotion of employer led training opportunities available across Cumbria. If you are interested in joining our Advisory Group, please contact the office for further details.
