Join on site for walks and talks to celebrate the first year of a 20 year project
Join for an update on the project and an informal guided walk with project staff.
Landscape Recovery is designed to work with farmers and other land managers to manage the land in ways that will improve soil and water quality and reverse the decline in nature.
In the Upper Duddon, the team have already been busy improving habitats, peatland restoration, creating wood pasture and restoring native woodland.
The project has created 14 jobs and secured farm businesses for their project farmers, and is successfully working in partnership with the National Trust, Forestry England, the University of Leeds, the University of Cumbria, South Cumbria Rivers Trust and the local community.
There will be easy and moderate versions of the walk, and the team will talk about some highlights of the first year of the project, with plenty of time for questions.
