Exploring and building on opportunities within work-based and practical agroecological training
TALC is a central knowledge and information hub for learners, trainers and centres of learning in the agroecology sector. It acts in a similar way to LANSS where they hold a directory on their website to which people can add courses and opportunities etc, except they act nationally and have a much narrower remit. We were delighted to attend their conference back in September.
The day provided a brilliant opportunity to network with people involved in all sorts of interesting agroecology projects across the country. It helped us better understand the challenges the sector faces and it was interesting to hear about the many different pathways available to enter the profession and the pros and cons of accredited and non-accredited training.

We were also introduced to what devolution will mean for us in Cumbria in terms of funding for training and the potential opportunities this will provide.


LANSS were pleased to attend the UK’s largest autumn livestock showcase where we had sponsored the sheep ring. We enjoyed meeting with many members of our farming community and those businesses which support them.
