Project Officer - Woodlands

Kirkby Lonsdale
Water River_Geneve Brand

Info

Closing date 28th June

Overview

The Project Officer will be the focal point for the Trust's work on woodland creation and tree planting. They will develop projects and work closely with other organisations active in woodland creation to drive a strategic approach to riparian woodland creation in the Lune catchment. They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the team to deliver their woodland creation programme. This is an entry level role and would suit someone recently graduated or wanting to enter the environmental charity sector from another type of work. Previous experience in developing and implementing woodland projects would be a big asset, but is not essential. The role will involve a lot of ‘on-the-job’ learning during the first year in order to fully understand the funding mechanisms available for woodland creation, and how to access them. The role will entail a lot of 1-to-1 work with farmers/ landowners in order to understand their farm businesses and how woodland creation could be part of this.
