The Practical Animal Care Skills (Animal Care and Welfare) Level 2 course is aimed at adults looking to gain further knowledge and skills in small animal care and welfare. The course will be taught during one evening per week, for one year, and will cover a range of practical animal care skills including handling and restraint, health care, health and safety, feeding and watering, maintaining accommodation, exercise and moving animals. You’ll take part in a mixture of theory and practical based sessions, assessed by internal written assignments and observation of practical skill competence. Some home study will be required which may include research, revision and completion of coursework.
