As part of the Cumbrian Rainforest Project, Cumbria Woodlands are offering two learning opportunities during September 2025.
First up is an in-person day exploring Habitat Management for Temperate Rainforest Species, Friday 26 September 2025 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Thornythwaite Farm, Borrowdale. The day will look at what conditions are needed for rainforest species to thrive and will focus on specific habitat conditions that maintain the rich biodiversity of lichens and bryophytes.
Second up is an online Webinar Restoring Temperate Rainforest - Lessons from the South West, Tuesday 30 September 2025 at 7:00 PM. Angie Cruse from Plantlife and ancient tree specialist Clare de Villanueva will share tried and tested techniques for temperate forest restoration.
