Peatland Conservation Officer (multiple roles)

Cumbria
Barkbooth Nature Reserve

Info

2 x Full-time posts (35 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract for 3.75 years. Some office/home working will be available, but most of the roles will involve travelling to restoration sites across Cumbria

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Peatland Conservation Officers to join our team. These key roles are critical for the continued preservation and restoration of our peatland ecosystems, which are vital for biodiversity, carbon storage and water quality across Cumbria. Salary: £33,458 per annum, plus pensions contributions of 9%. Due to the remote locations of the restoration sites, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be essential to fulfil the roles. The post supports the delivery of peatland restoration across Cumbria, working on both lowland raised bog and remote upland peatlands. The restoration officers will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing restoration activities that improve the condition and resilience of these vital habitats.
