

Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England, with a heritage of traditional stone craftsmanship that stretches back centuries. We produce slate for high-end residential and commercial projects, using traditional methods that preserve one of the UK’s most distinctive building materials. We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a River Stonemason and Saw operator helping produce Slate Products using traditional techniques. Riving slate is a skilled craft that requires patience, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. You will work alongside experienced craftsmen, full training will be given to teach you the traditional skills needed to split and shape slate for roofing.
