The new Land + Nature Skills Service (LANSS) for Cumbria will be officially launching at the Westmorland County Show on Wednesday 11th September at 3pm.

Additionally, the LANSS team will have a stand at both the Farmer Network stand (G239) and the Learning for Life Marquee.

Our official launch will be hosted by Julia Aglionby (Professor in Practice, University of Cumbria) with three speakers advocating the service Tim Farron, MP, Juile Mennell, Vice Chancellor, University of Cumbria and Mark Johnston, Managing Director of H&H Land & Estates, part of the H&H Group.

About the Land + Nature Skills Service (LANSS)

The purpose of LANSS is to support a skilled and inclusive workforce fit for the future of land and nature-based work in Cumbria. LANSS is an information hub and one-stop shop, providing a searchable database of courses and work based opportunities in the land and nature-based sectors in and near to Cumbria.

It is a unique partnership with the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, University of Cumbria , The Farmer Network, and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

Our aim is to make accessing courses and opportunities in Cumbria for the rural sector easier. There is lots going on across the county but people are not always aware of the resources available. Another avenue will be working with training providers and employers to identify gaps in training provision in Cumbria.
