Let's swap together for good

Great Big Green Week is the UK’s annual celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, and the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership has taken part since its inception as part of COP26 in 2021.

Organisations big and small are invited to plan an activity during the 7th – 15th June this year to continue to build awareness of the need for us all to ‘do our bit’ for climate and nature.

Ideas from last year included seed planting; fruit picking; clothes swaps and upcycling; repair cafes; nature walks and quizzes; story-telling, talks, music, singing, plays, films and discussions; seasonal veg bags, soup recipes and low-carbon community meals and so much more.

And everyone can get involved, from schools and youth groups, to older people’s groups, disabled people’s groups, asylum seeker and refugee communities and established venues such as village halls, community centres, parks and nature reserves.
